Build a Bardiche Halberd with BrookesWood Builds

Join Paul and the BrookesWood Builds team for a hands-on workshop where subtlety is left at the door, and you’ll build your own full-size wooden Bardiche-style halberd.

This is a proper make, not a quick craft. You’ll start with a prepared handle, a rough-shaped axe head, and steel bands, then get stuck into shaping the final edge, sanding, bending and fitting the bands, drilling, assembly, and finishing. You’ll also apply a professional oil finish, with a choice of Rubio Monocoat colours to really make it your own.

All blanks are prepared in advance so you can focus on the satisfying parts — shaping, fitting, and bringing the piece together — with guidance throughout from Paul and the team. No two halberds will look the same, and that’s very much the point.

You’ll leave the session with a totally unique, display-worthy Bardiche halberd that you made yourself — the sort of thing that immediately gets the reaction: “I’m putting that on my wall.”
